Background

According to GPUS Rules and Procedures, 7. Preference Voting Rules for SC Elections (adopted 6/19/06 in Proposal #222 - Resolution to Amend the Rules and Procedures on Steering Committee Elections Policy), the National Committee needs to elect 5 NC delegates for an Elections Tabulation Committee to tabulate the SC election. At this time, there are 2 nominees/volunteers. If more nominees/volunteers appear during this vote's discussion period, they may be added to the candidate list up to 48 hours before the voting period begins.

Due to the fact that this year's election for Steering Committee members is not following the usual calendar, the election of the ETC must occur as soon as possible, so as to have an ETC in place for the Steering Committee elections.

B. TABULATION OF VOTES

... The Election Tabulation Committee will consist of five members of the NC and will be elected by the NC using the current system of Single Transferable Voting employed by the Green Party.
