RE: We must make our platform more comprehendable to US voters.
I have suggested we start with something like,
"The Green Party of America honors the U.S. Constitution & Bill of Rights....."
Then go on to how we have a proposal for an FDR inspired 'New' Green Deal that will help our Nation out of this so called recession we have been in since before the 2008 financial meltdown.
I think we need to show the public we are pro "American" pro "Freedom" and pro "Free Enterprise" & not to mention "pro Guns with a reasonable screening & waiting period for licensing"
With our 4 pillar "Green New Deal" plan/proposal, we will positively effect every aspect and every problem ailing this country and put things on the table that heretofore have been either ignored or barley acknowledged.
In a side note to our platform, We should also mention somewhere that we are not a socialist or communist party.
We need to show comparisons as to how things like public high school education, that we are all o.k. with, can be viewed as a socialist/communistic practice and that these buzz words are detrimental to our campaign.
We can show how we can clean the environment and create green jobs as well. The clean energy business shouldn't be lead by china when we could do the same or better. ie. solar panels.
As for campaigning to the masses/joe plumbers... We should focus on popular points to familiarize the public with our plan, ie. Free College Education, Election Day Holiday, Student Loan Bail Outs, Reinstating the Glass Steagall act, Getting Money out of politics, Legalizing marijuana, etc.
We should stress the financial burden and costs of war and dirty energy. What it costs to clean up a nuclear reactor for example. Not only is was a financial strain but a takes a priceless toll on families on both sides of the fight. As US Marine, General Smedley Butler says, "War is a Racket."
We need to focus on the profits of peace not the cost of war.
Onward & Upward!
