Ballot Access and Headquarters in ALL 50 states.
I live in Las Vegas, NV and wish to be a Green Party member but there isn't a headquarters here and the Green Party has no ballot access in Nevada. Jill Stein was not allowed on the 2012 ballot in NV and write-ins are banned here. Is anything being done to remedy this?

If we're going to take on the status quo it would make sense to be able to have headquarters, candidates and primary elections in all 50 states especially in the major cities. I know many people in Nevada who are sick of the two party system like myself and the thought of voting for the Libertarians or the IAP makes us want to vomit.

We really need the Green Party to step it up here. Please help us.

Contacting the Nevada Green Party might be a good start:

Learning more about your local government and reaching out to anyone who might be interested in forming a local Green affiliate might also be helpful.

Contacted the NV GP about a Las Vegas chapter. Still waiting for an email back.

RE: Ballot Access and Headquarters in ALL 50 states.
Has anyone looked them up on FB? There was a major tasking (put on by CA Greens, I believe) to get a page made for every state. I myself am the admin for five or six (the Dakotas are one entity for some reason) different states. Not taking credit for it but I had been complaining to anyone who would listen that the gp.org page should have contact info for all 50 states. I can't imagine that there wouldn't be a Las Vegas chapter! I say just start something up yourself (FB, Twitter, etc.) and see if you get any bites. I quickly found out that NM already had something setup once I started posting on their (second) page.

Thanks, the Greens have no ballot access in the state of Nevada and there was a Clark County Greens chapter (Las Vegas area) but their site does not respond and all the email addresses come back no good. Not even the Occupy movement could get any traction here in Vegas. This town is extremely corporate, even small businesses have a really tough time here. It's not as terrible as Arizona as far as living here but they are corporate zombies of the worst kind and don't like "grass roots" or "socialist" organizations getting a foothold here...especially the big corporate casinos.

I've lived in Sin City for a few years, and it appears nothing has changed.. I'll keep poking around and see what I can find too.. I know how frustrating it is to want to help when nobody seems to have any answers or are hard to get in touch with..

I saw on Ballot Access News where Nevada released their party registration data and the Green Party wasn't listed, but the Libertarian Party was. Their LP has about 10,000 members.

Vadowdy,
Your best bet would be to start an FB page for them (assuming there isn't one already, and there really should be). People will find you! Be sure to post regional or local news related to Green beliefs..

Yeah, I knew a guy that was helping run Gary Johnson's campaign in Nevada. I agree with some of their stances on war, gay rights, and legalizing marijuana, but not enough to vote for their anti-safety net, anti-union and laissez-faire pro monopoly economic policies. I'm too much of a Socialist for them.

Libertarians are nice people until you talk to them about government helping the sick, the poor, and the working class.
