2014 Ride Share - Saint Paul, Minnesota
Has anybody in (or who will be driving through) Chicago firmed up their plans enough to know that they'll have an empty seat to Saint Paul?

Amtrak's one-train-daily schedule between Chicago & Saint Paul is quite inconvenient, so I'm contemplating taking Amtrak only as far as Chicago.
(I could, of course, also catch a commuter train out to one of Chicago's 'burbs)

I'll be happy (and able) to share costs & driving duties.

It's early and I'm still exploring possibilities. Another possibility is doing this the other way 'round - driving my own car and rendezvousing with ride-sharers in Chicagoland. (but I'm really hoping to use a common carrier, if it's possible without costing a fortune or requiring absurd schedule/logistics contortions)

Doug, take the train. Although long and inconvenient, it is also quite scenic. As an alternative, take the Hiawatha train into Milwaukee, and rent a car to St. Paul (also, Hertz at Amtrak St. Paul station has great rates)
