Background

According to GPUS Rules and Procedures, 7. Preference Voting Rules for SC Elections (adopted 6/19/06 in Proposal #222 - Resolution to Amend the Rules and Procedures on Steering Committee Elections Policy), the Green National Committee needs to elect 5 GNC delegates for an Elections Tabulation Committee to tabulate the SC election. At this time, we have 3 nominees/volunteers. If there appear more nominees/volunteers during this vote's discussion period, they may be added to the candidate list; or the GNC may decide a process for approval, or decide to utilize only those that were nominated/volunteered during the nomination period.

B. TABULATION OF VOTES

Two months before each Annual National Meeting (reduced to one month for 2006), the Secretary of GPUS shall post to the GNC a request for nominations for an Election Tabulation Committee. The Election Tabulation Committee will consist of five members of the GNC and will be elected by the NC using the current system of Single Transferable Voting employed by the Green Party website: Multi-Seat Ranked-Choice Voting http://lobitos.net/voting/
