Background

The Coordinated Campaign Committee (CCC) consists of 10 members, an equal number of males and females, and is a standing committee of the GPUS that cooperates with state and local chapters in the support of federal, state, and local Green Party electoral campaigns through a variety of different programs and support functions.

CCC members are elected for two-year terms in two elections, one to elect males and one to elect females, with the goal of having 5 men and 5 women on the committee. No state or caucus may have more than one member serving on the CCC at any time.

Candidates are invited to submit biographical information.

APPLICATION FOR COORDINATED CAMPAIGN COMMITTEE

1 - Name Barbara A. Barry

2 - State Connecticut

3 - Have you received approval to serve on this committee from your state party? See #2 above.

4 - Summarize your past experience with elections and campaigns. See #1 above.

5 - Explain your interest in the Coordinated Campaign Committee. I wished to expand my knowledge base to bring back to the GPCT, learn about information about what is happening in other GP state parties and also share GPCT feedback to the GPUS CCC, et al. Continue to promote CCC webinars, the Green Wave and any future telethons despite limited GPCT candidate participation .

6 - Identify specific contributions you think you could make to the work of the Coordinated Campaign Committee. See #5 and continue to provide my political and organizational feedback to maximize the CCC and GPCT results.

7 - How would your participation in this committee further the Green Party's commitments to feminism, racial justice, and diversity? For 50+ years, as an individual I spoke about the inequalities faced by females, LBGTQ people and people of different races or ethnicities. This was based on my philosophy that ALL people are ‘created equal’ and worthy of respect. Then these social movements came along to further enlighten us about the social behaviors and legal difficulties that need to improve and changed so ALL people are treated more fairly. I have promoted and shared this as a GPCT member and candidate and with other GPCT members and whenever it came up in social situations.
