Background

Bill Kreml was born August 5, 1941 in Evanston, Illinois. He is a graduate of Northwestern University, Northwestern University Law School and the Ph.D. in political science at Indiana University in 1972. In Bloomington, he studied with the political economist Elinor Ostrom, the first woman to win the Nobel Prize in Economics, she responding to the University of Chicago microeconomics that had garnered a string of Nobels with her multivariate approach to the discovery of how civilizations maintain themselves with an understanding of history, culture, climate, soil, and other variables.

Kreml is the author of nine non-edited books, a variety of articles in leading journals, book chapters, and reviews in several journals including The American Political Review. He has lectured at Princeton, Northwestern, and other leading universities and colleges. He is the creator of an original political philosophy, it resting on psychology rather than economic based theories like capitalism and socialism. He was a visiting professor at The University of Peking in 1994 and again in 1997. He entered selected Democratic presidential primaries in 1984, holding forums at Smith, Dartmouth, Syracuse, MIT, Bowdoin, The University of Montana, and other colleges and universities. He was the principal drafter of the national Democratic Party charter, the first constitution of a major political party in American history.

Kreml was a founder of the Committee on the Constitutional System, later chaired by twice counsel to the president Lloyd Cutler, Kennedy and Eisenhower cabinet member C. Douglas Dillon, Senator Nancy Kassebaum, Bill Fulbright, James MacGregor Burns, and others. We presented our findings for constitutional reform to the president and the congress in January 1987, in sync with front page coverage in NYT, WAPO and other journals.

Kreml finished second to Jill Stein in the 2016 Green presidential primaries.
