Background

Like regenerative agriculture, conservation agriculture is the practice of using farming methods that regenerate soil and ecosystems, sequester carbon, reduce use of synthetic fertilizers and water, and other eco benefits in addition to honoring the practices of indigenous peoples. The only difference is that conservation agriculture does not require the use of animals in achieving these goals.

Proposal

Amend Chapter II. Social Justice, E. Education and the Arts, 1. Education, plank ad, to replace the word "regenerative" with the concept of "conservation agriculture", with the amended text reading as follows:

"Educate students in grade school and higher education with courses in the environmental sciences, with a focus on the hands-on practice of Conservation Agriculture, with organic, community farming/gardening, increased emphasis on energy conservation, exposure to industrialized food production through field trips and educational films (at an appropriate age), and other courses that include a comprehensive curriculum on climate change, biodiversity, and other planetary boundaries and environmental concerns. Focus on education through a general immersion in nature to understand, hands-on, the intricate dependence of humanity upon the natural world."
