This Amendment is new text to be inserted at the end of the first paragraph after the current heading “Violence and Oppression”:

CURRENT LANGUAGE
Language is often used as a weapon by those with power, and women have traditionally borne the brunt of inflicted injuries. Freedom of speech is vital to democracy. However, we believe that this freedom should not be used to perpetuate oppression and abuse.

NEW LANGUAGE to be added at teh end of the above paragraph
"All people have the right to be free from violence, including all physical and psychological abuse and economic exploitation, sexual harassment and violence, rape and other forms of coerced sex, including in or outside marriage or partnerships, in detention, and in armed conflict."
