Background

The work of the Credentials Committee is time bound and vital to the Presidential Nominating Process. Because of this, consistent membership during the months when the committee is convened is important. This proposal seeks to amend the committee rules, policies and procedures so that members who do not participate become automatically resigned.

Proposal

The Rules, Policies, and Procedures of the Credentials Committee are amended as follows:

Add the following language to Section 1-4 Active Membership
1-4.3 If any member is inactive for two consecutive months, they will be considered to be resigned. They will be removed from the committee roster and will not participate in any further business unless they are re-elected by the National Committee.

Add the following language to Section IV Vacancies
4-1.4 A committee member is automatically resigned as described in 1-4.3.
