Background

On the initiative of the International Committee (IC), the Green Party of
the United States on November 29, 2004 signed on as an endorser of the Day
of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, organized by the US Campaign to
End the Israeli Occupation The IC has discussed and agreed by consensus to
request the CC to authorize the USGP becoming an organizational member of
the US Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation. The USGP¹s commitment to end
the occupation and work in solidarity with the Palestinian people will be
enhanced by becoming a group member of the US Campaign to End the Israeli
Occupation.

Proposal

The USGP will become a signatory US Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation
and pay annual membership dues of $100 a year. When the USGP joins the
Campaign, it will be committing to:

informing, educating, and mobilizing the public regarding the U.S.
Governments current as well as potential role in the Israeli-Palestinian
conflict;

seeking to change such policies as the billions of U.S. military and
economic aid dollars provided despite Israel¹s violations of U.S. and
international law;

calling for the U.S. to work within the U.N. to implement a just and
lasting peace;

spreading the word amongst its constituencies;

promoting the Campaign as part of its work in other areas;

responding to Action Alerts;

contributing to Ad Hoc Task Forces;

sharing best practices from our own organizing efforts;

This proposal follows up the endorsement of the Day of Solidarity with the
Palestinian People, November 29, 2004 with formal membership in The US
Campaign. Our Platform on the issue
