Background

At the end of January 2007 GPUS has an accounts payable of $9948.46 to Red Sun Press for printing and mailing the direct mail piece in November 2006. The next planned direct mail piece is a resolicitation to previous contributors to be mailed in March, a regular mailing that is sent three
times a year and is a vital part of GPUS fundraising efforts. The average resolicitation mailing that doesn't contain a merchandise insert returns three times the cost of the mailing itself.

The Rules and Procedures, Fiscal Policy, Loans states: To cover
emergencies, sudden expenses, or seed funds for special projects,
amounts of $2000 or less may be borrowed, with the express written
authorization of the Green Party Steering Committee. Larger loans must
be approved by a vote of the full National Committee.

Proposal

The National Committee agrees to accept interest-free loans from Green Party members to pay the $9948.46 due Red Sun Press.

The first profits from the March mailing will repay those who have contributed to this loan.
