Background

GPUS Finance Committee P&Ps state: "Membership on the Finance Committee will be, at a minimum, the GPUS Treasurer, the GPUS accountant, the designated Steering Committee member who is on the banking signatory card, and any Steering Committee members who choose to join. Any member of the National Committee may join with the voted approval of the National Committee. With the approval of their state Green Party and/or accredited caucus, persons who are Green Party members but not National Committee members, including members from states not organized as part of GPUS, may join if approved by the National Committee. Volunteers for the Finance Committee shall inform the Steering Committee of their interest, so that the Steering Committee may make a timely proposal for approval of the new members. Members may serve until they resign or are removed for cause."

The North Carolina Green Party has approved member Kai Schwandes for membership on the GPUS Finance Committee.

KAI SCHWANDES

Born 1962 Hamburg Germany
Education Horticulturist

moved to US in 1990,
joined NC GP in 2005

Started Mt. Greens in 2005 fastest and largest local in North Carolina
which spun off two new locals and then disband so that members can
actively work in new locals.

Elected to NC GP chair in 2006 and resigned in 2007 as protest because of
allegations that I am a DemoGreen (which of course is total nonsense)

Alternate Delegate for NC GP 2006 to 2008
Delegate for NC GP 2008

Worked on national committee that figured out the new delegation allotment

Worked on committee in Reading that counted the votes for the SC election

Currently on PCSC, BAC, Outreach

Proposal

Kai Schwandes, duly vetted by the North Carolina Green Party, is hereby approved as a new member of the GPUS Finance Committee.
