Background

This re-inserts and updates the gun control plank from the 2004 platform, which was lost when the section was amended.

Proposal

Amend II. Social Justice G. Criminal Justice 3. Criminal Justice Reform

add a new section i.:

i. Thoughtful, carefully considered gun control such as is contained in the Brady Bill (1993). Eliminate the gun show loophole that permits sale of weapons without background checks. Extend background checks to all private sales of firearms.
