Background

The Mountain Party of West Virginia, having forwarded their approval to the GPUS in July, now requests GPUS National Committee reappointment of Frank Young to the Finance Committee. Given the four month delay in voting on the appointment, since receiving the approval from the Mountain Party West Virginia, the Steering Committee determined that an expedited process (one week discussion, one week voting) was appropriate.

Proposal

The GPUS National Committee approves Frank Young for membership on the Finance Committee.

Resources

None needed. Immediate implementation.

Biographical statement from Frank Young:

I was one of the founders of the West Virginia Mountain Party, the West Virginia affiliate of GPUS, in the year 2000. Previously I had worked for more than a decade on the groundwork--legal research, litigation with the WV Secretary of State, candidate recruitment, etc. in preparation for forming this new political party that has retained steady ballot access for one special and nine regular statewide election cycles. In 2008, soon after the WV Mountain Party affiliated with GPUS, I was selected to the National Committee of GPUS. In 2009 I was elected to the GPUS finance committee. I have served in that role continuously since then. I look forward to another term assisting the GPUS Finance Committee as it welcomes a new Treasurer in August and new fiscal challenges and opportunities in coming years.
