Background

In accordance with the policy adopted in Proposal #266, Process for Resolution of Procedural Objections (adopted, 4/1/07), the Green National Committee is asked to vote on whether to uphold the floor manager's application of that proposal in regards to determining a deadline by when appeals to an SC procedural decision must be posted. This is in reference to objections posted to the Steering Committee's setting of the approval threshold for Proposal # 386, Declare International Committee Inactive Until Committee RPPs Are Approved,

In this case, you are voting FOR or AGAINST the floor manager's application of the procedural objection policy in determining that the deadline for posting objections would have required 5 delegates from 5 states/accredited caucuses to have posted objections by midnight of the third full day after notice of the SC decision (on the approval threshold for Proposal #386) was posted to the GNC email list. While this has been the standard, those objecting maintain that the requirement is that only one objection need be posted within that time frame, with the rest of the required number due by the time the proposal in question goes into the voting period. Some who objected agreed with the floor manager on the time frame but felt the rule should be flexible to accept an objection that was posted late but close to the deadline.

Vote YES if you agree with the floor manager's application (5 delegates in 3 days). Vote NO if you disagree.

Proposal

The Green National Committee shall sustain the floor manager's application of the procedural objection process (Proposal #266) regarding the time frame in which objections must be posted. to the GNC.
